Blogger Wanted: Columbus Crew
By: Laurie | April 10th, 2008Mine is a permanent set of MLS bloggers for every team.
(Okay, a million bucks would be nice too.)
You can help make my dream come true. The blogging one, not the million bucks one. Although if you were to feel compelled to make that one come true too, I wouldn’t stand in your way.
Our Columbus Crew blogger Brian, aka TrivDaddy, has real life commitments pulling him away from blogging. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for his hard work in helping to get our MLS team pages off the ground. He’s been a Crew blogger since last season, our first MLS season on The Offside, and has helped make us what we are today. Thanks, Brian!
But his departure leaves us with a hole to be filled. We are now looking for someone with a passion for the Crew, and a passion for writing about the Crew. This is not a paid position, but it’s a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to share your love for the team with an audience.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please send me an email with two sample posts to laurie[at]theoffside[dot]com, and tell me why you should be our new Crew blogger.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
(And now about that million bucks…)

Yes, we need a Crew blogger. How else will the people get the Adam Moffat news they so desperately need? Thanks, Brian, for getting the Crew page this far.

Ian, did you know that Moffat’s old team is now being coached by former Ross County, Caley’s nemesis, star Brian Irvine?

Must have been why he left.

Wait, we’re requiring sample posts now?
Jeez, I remember the days when Bob just said “pretty please,” and asked us to walk up hill to turn in our stone tablet posts to Pony Express in the rain and snow.
Serious though…wow

Yeah, kind of makes me wonder if I’d pass these days.
Seriously, though, as our audience and our reach get bigger, we’re able to offer a pretty good platform for people who want a place to showcase their footy-writing skills. Making sure writers are serious and have the skills to get the job done is good for our readers and ultimately good for the bloggers too.

Yeah, Im pretty sure that “Celebrities if they were from Houston” and “Women as soccer ratings” would probably get denied.
