George W. Bush welcomes Beckhams to America

David and Victoria Beckham made their triumphant debut in the United States Tuesday with the duo unveiled at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in New York. It was an appropriate way to introduce Becks to the American populace considering he will likely be just as stiff from sitting on the bench at Real Madrid when he arrives in the States this summer to begin his five years of melting away in the LA sun. A favorite quote from the day’s festivities: “I don’t know them,” said New Yorker Rosanne Pelligrini, 54. “Oh wait, is that the soccer player. What’s his name? Begins with a B?” No word if he struggled to recognize the guy holding the sign too.
