Must See TV: Victory Beckham Coming to America
By: Bob | July 16th, 2007
After all the waiting and all the fanfare Monday night is the night. Our long national agony is over. This is the evening where we finally get to see the real side of Victoria Beckham. This is the evening where for one solid hour, minus those dreaded commercials, we get to see what it is like for a humble gal from England to pack up her backs and start a new life in the land of opportunity. This is the time when we get to see a train wreck unfold before our very eyes.
Predictably, the naysayers in the media are not impressed.
NBC should get down on its knees and make a giant no vena of thanks that soccer star David Beckham was called back to Europe before it could finish filming his relentlessly self-promoting wife’s reality series, “Victoria Beckham: Coming to America.”
And, while we’re at it, the aforementioned relentlessly self-promoting wife should do the same.
If this weren’t a one-shot deal and people were exposed to her vapid, condescending behavior on a weekly basis, she’d not just be unwelcome in America, she’d be run out on a rail - whatever that means.
Anyway, the proposed series, now downsized to a one-hour “special,” is an orgy of self-indulgence so out of whack with, er, reality that you’ll sit there slack-jawed at the gall of these people who think we are that stupid.
Like many an artist before her, Posh is clearly not appreciated in her time. Don’t let the critics sway you. Get your Tivo ready and be prepared to kill your brain cells. Bad television like this only comes around, well, every night, but at least this bad television will be bra free in HD.

Thanks for writing about this so I don’t have to.
Way to take it for the team, Bob.

Britain’s had to put up with 10 years of this Beckham bullshit, I think its about time someone shoved a red hot poker up her arse to change that dopey expression on her face.

Rather than watch the NBC show, check out the Star Stories Beckham special, its probably a lot funnier. In three parts.

You don’t think America loves vapid, condescending television? May I introduce you to my friend Paris Hilton?
