question-mark3.jpgWe’re continuing our MLS blogger Q & As with questions for Robert, who writes the FC Dallas Offside blog. Robert is one of our longer-term MLS bloggers; he’s been around The Offside since June of ‘07. His most recent project is ann attempt to bring in Stephen Colbert as FC Dallas Fan President.

A worthy goal, Robert. Worthy indeed. This could only be good for MLS.

Favorite team besides the one you blog on? The University of Michigan, hail to the victors. I’m alum, wait, are we talking about soccer here?

The player you’d most like to kick a ball around with ? Either the guy who does that seal dribble (insert that video link here) or Thierry Henry, America’s only good Frenchman.

Favorite ice cream? Americone Dream, but I am trying to cut back.

Favorite on-the-field formation (4-4-2, 4-3-3, etc.)? 3-3-4, most goals wins. You and I both know this would be fun to watch.

Cats or dogs? Cats

Favorite non-Offside soccer blog (because obviously we’re your favorite) 3rd Degree. They work harder than anybody and I steal from them.

Last DVD you watched Carlito’s Way

Who’s going to win the MLS Cup this year? FC Dallas, who’s going to win it next year? FC Dallas, the year after that? Chivas USA but then FC Dallas returns to the top spot…we can’t win them all.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? My dad had to sit down and explain to me that “alien” not only wasn’t a career opportunity but not possible since he knew my parents after that I wanted to be a super spy.

If you had to keep your eyes locked on one position (e.g. striker, goalkeeper, etc.) for an entire game, which would it be? The female Brazilian soccer fans in attendance (someone insert a picture here too)…failing that I’d follow the attacking midfielders.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know. I once received a yellow card after scoring a goal and celebrating by getting on my hands and knees and sniffing the goal line like it was a line of coke.

The most games you’ve ever watched in a twenty-four hour period? I had the TV on once for three games in a row but the second game involved Chelsea and I fell asleep. They bore me.

Morning person or night person? Night

Favorite national team outside of your own? Brazil

Favorite TV show to watch in reruns? The Simpsons

Favorite current player on any team? Nery Castillo, wherever he plays.

Favorite comfort food? Pizza, its a weakness

“Gruesome Soccer Injuries” video. Would you watch or not? No, I have a soft stomach for things like that

Favorite sport or physical activity to participate in? Favorite physical activity? *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* HA!

Best game you’ve ever seen? Last year’s SuperLiga match between FC Dallas and LA. Yeah the good team lost and yeah Landon will burn for his throat slash but 11 goals is 11 goals and I like goals.

Best pet you’ve ever had? A cat named Rascal when I was younger.

Favorite goalkeeper ever? I am not a big fan of the goal keeper, but Dario Sala was a lieutenant in the army so that’s pretty cool.

What else would you like to say about yourself? I once got carded for telling an official I’ve seen better calls in golf.
