Celtic Fan Eating his Greens for his Team

By: Bob | September 13th, 2006

vegetables-joy.jpgIt is a diet that would make any mother proud. Scott Campbell, a 20-year-old fan of the Scottish club Celtic, has taken up a bet to eat only food in his club’s colors for an entire season. Celtic, of course, wears green and white, so Campbell’s diet these days is high in vegetables and presumably green Jell-O.

Mr Campbell, originally from Glasgow, said: “Like all these things, it started on a drunken night out when one of the guys I was living with dared me to it. I’m quite stubborn, so I agreed.

“In the morning I’ll just have apples, and I’m also allowed bananas because the inside of them is white, and a glass of milk. For lunch I just have salad and at night I’ll have fish or a chicken dish. It’s been a bit of a struggle but it is a healthy option and I’ve lost a bit of weight.”

Campbell, who is fortunate that he doesn’t support a team with colors like Aston Villa’s, must really be looking forward to St. Patrick’s Day when he can drink green beer and come up with his next asinine drunken bet.

Like the rest of the free world, we’re sure he’ll be tuning in for our liveblog today featuring his team against Manchester United.
