Celtic Have Seen the Last of Henrik Larsson’s Tongue
By: Daryl | January 12th, 2008
Disappointing news today is that Henrik Larsson’s and his trademark goal celebration definitely won’t be seen at Celtic again. The legendary Swedish striker spent seven years at Parkhead, and had reason to stick out his tongue a whopping 173 times. Larsson then moved on for a two year spell at Barcelona where he won the Champions League, just to prove he could do that too, before rejoining Swedish club Helsingborgs IF.
But because the Swedish league schedule is wacky in an MLS way, Larsson signed a three month loan deal with none other than Manchester United last January. Rumours have been circulating that he’d do something similar this January and have a second spell at Celtic, but the 36 year old has opted to sign a new contract with Helsingborgs IF.
Still, Celtic’s loss is Helsingborg’s gain, and fans of the Swedish club can enjoy another season watching one of the great goalscorers of recent history. This video is a testament to his talent. Everyone gets a YouTube video these days, but not everyone gets their very own Euro-disco song to go with it…
