Ronald Koeman Not Missed In Spain, But Wanted Everywhere Else
By: chris | April 25th, 2008
It’s been a hectic year for Ronald Koeman, swapping hilly Holland for Spain, and it appears he’s the type that doesn’t stay single for long, with a host of suitors already knocking on his door. At least that’s according to the always-reliable agent. However, if he’s looking for a letter of recommendation, must we suggest looking towards someone else who isn’t Vicente or Joaquin? Not so sure they’d give Ronnie the old thumbs up….
When asked about Ronaldo’s departure, neither winger really gave the impression he’d be missed. Vicente made a point to criticize his tactical stubbornness, a point a few have mentioned. Joaquin, another who wasn’t afforded much playing time, criticized his man-management. So let’s see: poor tactics + poor man-management = unemployment. Sounds about right.
Koeman, though unemployed, apparently isn’t feeling undesired. His agent - surely a beacon of truth - says that he already has five offers from domestic clubs and one from a national team. How often do people get canned for epic failures on a Monday and find themselves able to essentially name their price by the end of the week? Not many.
But if your club is currently looking for a coach, fret not at the moment:
“Ronald has clearly indicated that he would first like to rest for a few months before he starts something new. Until then, he’s more likely to be seen on a golf course.”
I’d steer clear of his golf course. If recent times are any indication, he’s bound to butcher something.
