Rivaldo + Cristiano Ronaldo = Kyle Lafferty
By: Daryl | May 18th, 2009If one player could emulate the skills of both Brazilian legend Rivaldo and current WPOTY Cristiano Ronaldo, that player would be one unstoppable step-over fueled goal machine right?
Well, it all depends on which skills said player decided to take. Rangers Northern Irish striker Kyle Lafferty decided Rivaldo’s hilarious corner flag routine (second link for that vid today, we’re going to wear it out) and Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous World Cup 2006 wink were the skills he wanted to emulate, and this weekend he used them to get Aberdeen’s Charlie Mulgrew sent off.
Good news is that Lafferty has since apologised to all concerned (including the referee and linesmen), Charlie Mulgrew’s red card has been rescinded, and the Scottish FA will almost definitely be punishing Lafferty retrospectively.
Sergio Aguero better hope the LFP doesn’t find out you can do that.
