Adriano Celebrates His First Goal in Six Months, But Did He Score It?

By: Daryl | October 21st, 2007

Those of us awaiting Adriano’s return to form can begin the celebration, cautiously. Inter’s formerly overweight and out of form Brazilian striker was on the scoresheet for Inter yesterday for the first time in six months, giving his team a 1-0 win over Reggina. But a close look at the video suggests he made very little, if any, contact with Luis Figo’s cross, and the fact that Figo was also celebrating – and being coingratulated – as if he’d scored makes Adriano’s claim a little dubious. But let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and hope this is the big man’s first step on the road back to banging in loads of proper goals.
