Double Duck

By: Daryl | January 28th, 2008

We made certain promises when Pato debuted that we wouldn’t go overboard with this whole thing. And we’re going to try and stick to that, honest we are. But the young Brazilian scored twice at the weekend to confirm his status as a bona fide Serie A striker in Milan’s 2-0 win over Genoa.

We knew the lad had skills, but what’s most impressive is that Pato’s goals and performance show a bit of mental strength. He’s now had a mini-slump (didn’t score in the two games following his debut, and was substituted during the midweek 2-1 loss to Atalanta) and come out the other side, so he’s treading the treacherous path to superstardom like an old pro.

I’ve decided to stop worrying about the hype and just get excited about this. That second goal was composed.
