Et tu, Silvio?

It was a little over a month ago that AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi took the opportunity to kick the dog known as Chelsea’s Andriy Shevchenko when he was really down. Berlusconi chalked up Sheva’s move to England as being one of a man who is pussywhipped. “A true Milanista and a real man would not have behaved like this. At my home I’m in charge and decide what happens. Instead, when Shevchenko’s wife shouts, he runs under the bed like a lap-dog,” crowed the former Prime Minister of Italy and current resident expert on relationships.
Fast forward to yesterday when Berlusconi issued a national press release in response to his wife’s demands for an apology ‘after he was overheard propositioning a couple of showgirls at a gala dinner’:
“Dear Veronica, here’s my apology. Forgive me, I beg you. And take this public show of my private pride giving in to your fury as an act of love. One of many.”
Spoken like a true Milanista.
Just for fun, let us compare Mrs. Belusconi with Mrs. Shevchenko. Makes you want to become a lap-dog too, doesn’t she?
