Fiorentina’s Experimental Wasteland: Football Without Alice Bands
By: The Offside | August 15th, 2012
Fiorentina is in the midst of a none-too-small upheaval, ousting their head of personnel and bringing in Vincenzo Montella as coach, with rumors of Stevan Jovetic’s departure ever lingering. However, they could be rendering all that a series of non-stories by shepherding in a frightening new experiment; one which could give a glimpse into a football wasteland:
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Coach Montella has decided to implement a new code of conduct to keep his players in check.
This includes banning earrings and jewellery during training sessions, limiting the use of hair bands as much as possible and ensuring players do not roll up their shorts in training to get a more even suntan on their thighs.
Imagine a world without Alice bands. Could Serie A even exist?
