Enrique de Lucas: The Casual Footballer

By: The Offside | March 7th, 2013

So you get paid* to play a sport professionally. One day you don’t even have to play until later. So what better way to spend time on the bench than by sipping on a nice lager? None according to Enrique de Lucas of Celta Vigo.

His club is saying that Enrique was merely sipping on some non-alcoholic liquid – an energy drink, to be precise. Which may or may not be true. (Some do actually look just like your favorite beer.)

But something says mid-match “energy drinks” are about to become all the rage in football.

* – It’s Spain. “Paid” is a very loose term.
