Kaka: Officially The Newest Galactico & Most Expensive Player In History.
By: chris | June 8th, 2009
It’s official: Kaka has signed for Real Madrid (pretty self-explanatory above even if you don’t speak Spanish). The fee has yet to be officially announced but there’s little question it’s the highest fee ever paid for a footballer (assumed somewhere in the €70m+ range) – an honor Florentino Perez has pushed through how many times now?
Milan have also released a statement, in English after the jump, which is all touchy feely and just stops short of shouting “Remember Sheva!! You will rue the day!!!”.
“From next season Kaka will play for Real Madrid. AC Milan thank the man and the great champion for his decisive contribution to the many victories earned in six years of Rossoneri effort.
“The technical loss, albeit grave, can be overcome. It will however be very difficult to fill the void left by the man Kaka, a great example of hard work and professionalism.
“AC Milan, interpreting the voices of the directors, players and supporters, send him the most cordial and affectionate best wishes for the future of his sporting career.”

Incidentally Ricky has also crashed the internet, as both mammoth sites continue to struggle with the demand of internet-going football-lovers.
And with that, Florentino Perez is back to his old ways, showing once again that footballing history is doomed to repeat itself over and over and over and….

No player is worth that much. As good as Kaka is, he will never be able to meet up the expectations.

I wonder what C-Ron is thinking right now…
Also, there’s likely a couple of bargains to be had at Real in the near future. Maybe someone could pick up Sneijder or van der Vaart on the cheap?

Totally think it was the right time for Kaka to move, whether its the right place to go to will remain to be seen.
Amazing stuff anyway.

both parties will only profit. milan got a ton of money and will no longer have to pay his mammoth wages and also made space for ronaldinho, while real madrid got a big name to sell jerseys. i’m not sure if he’s worth it from a sporting point of view.

So the circus finally comes to an end.
The only winner in this is Kaka and his dad. Many milan fans think the money is wow and can get us few players – but hey knowing Berlu and Fester I wont be surprised if they spend some to make the Beckham move a permanent one.
As for Kaka – One thing is sure. Never say Never in football.
He wanted to captain Milan and had big dreams and what not… he was apparently never going to leave milan but ……

I wanted to stay on at Milan, but the global economic crisis has affected many clubs, especially those like Milan that run as a business,” he told Jornal Nacional.“I spoke with the directors and we agreed that the transfer would be in everybody’s interests at this moment in time.”
this is so so so shady. Yea right.
When will they stop feeding BS to fans. Sad.Posted from

Damn. Weren’t Man City paying shit loads of money to Milan and if he was so worried about the economic crisis then why not move to Man City then.
Fukin BS. These players should seriously stop feeding BS to their fan’s. Fukin sad.

I can’t wait to hear what Platini has to say. After all, he was a leading critic of Man City’s pursuit of Kaka because it was “too much money” for one player, particularly in such a difficult economic climate. I wonder if he’s already preparing his comments on how base and disgusting it is that Real Madrid are spending so much money on Ricky.

only most expensive in pounds (56ish?). with the current conversion rate, zidane’s value in euro’s still tops the charts

And to think Gaziantepspor could have had him when he was 18 if only they didn’t feel that 1 million was “too much for a child”.

Real are so pathetic, they just show his head on the official site to avoid showing the Milan jersey..

Dhaw, you are crazy man. This episode makes Berlu look much, much worse. Do you know how hard that is to do since he owns half of the media?!
Kaka has consistently backed up his words with actions and Galliani and Berlu made it clear that they wanted to sell him. And if the figures are right, he is earning the same amounts that he was earning at Milan.
Even after he left, he could have endeared himself to Madrid fans by saying he always wanted to go there, but his first words were he didnt want to leave Milan but had no choice.
He wanted to be captain and he wanted to stay for ever, but what he wants is made irrelevant when the management make it clear that he must leave to make space for Berlu’s precious ronaldinho.

this is probably the final nail on serie a’s coffin.

dhaw- a lot of players lie to the fans and i’m not saying kaka is god, but at the same time, i’m sure kaka’s biggest fans (milan fans) aren’t mad at him for this. if kaka was purely moving for money, then he would have gone to city. plus you may think that milan will spend the money in a stupid way (which i completely agree with you) but you can’t deny that this transfer did give them a CHANCE to do better
momoney and williamhill- this is bad for serie a but def not the end of it. just like ronaldo leaving the premier league would hurt revenues and talent to an extent but would not destroy it or the same if messi were to leave la liga. kaka is the face of serie a but now there will be a new face within the next couple of years. italian football is too strong with their young talent to not rebound from losing their top player (remember zidane left from serie a to real madrid too). all these league supremacy things run in cycles.
