Marcelo Gives the Thumbs Up to Real Madrid’s Ritual

Imagine working all of your life to become a world class football player and when you finally achieve your dream of playing for Real Madrid the first thing they ask you to do is to give a thumbs up and look pretty for the cameras while you are undergoing an ad-sponsored medical exam. Such was the fate of 18-year-old Brazilian left back Marcelo today who reportedly has signed with Real Madrid through 2013. He is expected to be the heir apparent to Roberto Carlos. From what I’ve seen of the kid, he sure can play with or without tubes sticking out of his chest.
