Messi’s Hat Trick Wins Barcelona the Spanish Super Cup

By: Ian Rose | August 22nd, 2010

289505-lionel-messiLeo Messi, back with Barcelona, is once again the Leo Messi that fans adore and opponents fear. After Sevilla took a 3-1 lead in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup last week, the tie made its way to the Nou Camp and Barca came back to full strength, with their Spanish World Cup stars back in the lineup. After an early own goal from Konko, with an assist from Pedro, it was all Messi. In the 25th, 44th, and 90th minutes, he took Sevilla’s lead and turned it on its head. That’s one trophy (albeit a fairly meaningless one) added to the Barcelona case.

Below is a video of all the goals that I would have placed in the beginning of this post, but I didn’t have the heart to cut it down to size to fit on the homepage. This is why I love sports in HD, and I wish we could give you more highlights in this kind of video quality, without the copyright cops releasing the hounds. Enjoy the Xavi-to-Messi goodness below:
