They wanted a Spaniard, Spain won the Euro championships so why would they want someone who wasn’t Spanish!.

You have to understand this isn’t a football club… this is Real Madrid. They expect better than the best.

Capello won a la liga title with Madrid there first in quite a few years I believe) and they sacked him becuase they didn’t play good enough football.

…Schuster was clearly using reverse psychology when he made those comments. i mean could he really have been that dim? well i guess we’ll never know. as far as ramos goes, i guess we’ll see if the fact that he can’t speak the queens English was the only thing keeping him from leading spurs to victory. either way…what a circus real has been this season.

Mancini? Laughable. Ramos is a good fit for Real; tactically astute, and will be respected.

However, I totally disagree with you on Schuster’s comments. It was simply a tactical decision. By saying what he did, Schuster threw all the pressure onto Barcelona. Basically, he said, for Barca to lose or even be in a close match with Real — or anyone else for that matter — would be a failure. It was an interesting — albeit desperate — decision, but not what everyone thinks.

You look at Spanish coaches first then you turn to Italian, lets face it Mancicn is no Capello. Mancini has won an european cup and he hasn’t got as much experince as Juande. The coach that is hired has to be somewhat familiar with the league either as player or manager must have a good playing style.

I don’t get it. First and foremost, the coach is not the one to blame for what’s been going on right now, I mean, it would be difficult for a manager to really know when most the players are going to get hurt, plus I wouldn’t hire a reject like Juande Ramos. Come on!!! If I were Real Madrid, I would be after Roberto Mancini. He is young, he won two Coppa Italia 2005 and 2006, two Supercoppa Italiana 2005 and 2006 and three Scudettos 2005–06, 2006–07 and 2007-08. So, there you have it!

Its only a contract until the end of the season, and i dont see them winning the league or the champions league (or even coming close to doing so). Therefore, i dont see him being there next season, but I could be wrong, he does know what hes doing, and I always supported him at Spurs and felt sorry for him when he lost his job (although everyone knew it was coming)
