Ronaldinho To Milan Rumors Heat Up Again
By: chris | March 26th, 2008
Only this time it’s not Silvio Berlusocni and his incessant lust for all things Brazilian, it’s the slightly dysfunctional brother across town. Rumor has it Massimo Moratti wants to bring Dinho to the San Siro to join his already bustling cavalry of South Americans. And if you’d like to believe Sports Illustrated - which has stooped low enough to start getting its info from the ever accurate goal.com - Moratti is ready to hand over €60m like he’s at the McDonald’s drive-thru.
Roughly eight months ago €60m may have - in some sort of alternative reality where world hunger is cool and horseyfaced Brazilians are worth way more than a few million Hungry Mans - seemed entirely justifiable, doable…..not so ludicrous. Now it’s just that, and considering both the form of Ronaldinho and the rumors circulating about his half-injuries, half-issues with partying (again), this would be incredibly stupid. Luckily for Barca, stupid things are what Moratti does bestest.
Of course, a much more reputable source (Reuters) is giving out direct quotes to the tune of “all is well with Barca and the Dinho”, which sounds way more believable.
“There is no divorce between Barcelona and Ronaldinho,” Laporta was quoted as saying by Spanish media on Wednesday.
“We hope Ronaldinho will be back as soon as possible, but at the moment he is suffering some pain and we have to respect that. While he has got this pain we can’t count on him.”
Given the sources and direct quotes associated, it’s likely the latter is more the case, and the media has just assumed their asses off again. However, it’s Inter - entirely possible they open up their checkbooks while Barca laughs all the way to the bank.
