Mauel Cajuda smoking

There’s plenty of scientific proof that smoking is harmful to your body. But there’s no proof that it’s harmful to your chances of Champions League football. Quite the opposite in fact.

This is Vitória Guimarães coach Manuel Cajuda taking a big breath of not so fresh air before the last game of the Portuguese season kicked off yesterday. Cajuda’s team beat Estrela Amadora 4-0 at home and took third place in the Portuguese Liga, which means they’ll be in the qualifying stages of the 2008/9 Champions League. Look to see David Moyes trying the same trick with Everton next season.

Tamin, I’m a big fan of this guy. Vitória (Guimarães) has always been in the 1st league, then they went down, then in Christmas 06 this guy took the lead and this year they’re on the Champs League qualifyng spot and finished 3rd in the portuguese league, ahead of Benfica, and were chalenging Sporting for the second spot.

Sporting only got second place cos they had a far easier last 4 matches than V Guimarães. Needless to say that the budget difference bewteen Vitória and either Sporting or Benfica is huge.

He’s exhaling smoke, and his cigarette is not even lit. That’s a heavy smoker.
