The Offside Podcast Episode 4

By: Martha | December 5th, 2007

Offside calling earthYes, pop-pickers, the Podcast is back! Real life matters interrupted the regularity of the Pod for a while, but ScotlandIan is back at it, this time in the company of past contributor Anne (once of the California Victory Offside). Topics at hand this week include the Golden Ball, Roy Keane’s tenure at Sunderland, and the continuing carosel of Scotland management. If you’ve got 10-odd minutes to spare, click the magic link, and enjoy.

This should be coming out on Tuesdays now. I got it in a little late yesterday, so it didn’t get in the queue until this morning. I know it’s a little rough, but it’s pretty much a two-person operation right now, so anyone interested in coming on and talking about their team / league / gripes should get in contact with me. We’re working on trying to make it more consistent and a better show. If you have any ideas, let me know. Cheers.

Ian I was under the impresion that you are Scottish but you have no such accent. Anyhow is the skype address eunrose?

It would be cool if every once in a while, there was a weekly focus besides the general news, one week looking at South America, one looking at La Liga, etc, and maybe you could invite the various bloggers to participate.

I’m American. My family is Scottish and I get back as often as I can, but I live in the States. On skype, you just use a unique name, instead of an address with an @. Mine is eunrose, because my correctly spelled name wasn’t available. I’ll try to keep it on somewhat often in case anyone wants to record a question or comment - I need to get the internet equivalent of voicemail, but that’s not set up yet.

Actually, Inara, when we started, we sent out an invite in Bob’s monthly update asking who was interested and a few (Daryl, Sam, Ryan, Joe) responded and have helped out. I do like the idea of having shows focused on different leagues, continents, etc. You should come on.

You can count me in of course (though I don’t know anything about podcasting). I’m sure others can be prodded into participating as well. :)

I’m not so good at the prodding. I might need to hire someone on as a prodder.

Yeah, when life doesn’t stop giving it to me every which-way, I’ll be back on the Pod.

Ryan, “back on the pod” sound somehow…just…wrong.

Thanks for once again being the voice of my own childish mind, Laurie. Yeah, I thought it sounded odd too, but we need Ryan back on, so I wasn’t going to question his phrasing.

Hey, somebody’s gotta make up for all the maturity running rampant in the world.
