In fact nobody (except the PL diehards) was talking about CR. He was that guy who came third in the FIFA awards. Messi also showed in the two legs against Man U that he is the better player. Not bad for a guy who just came off a long lay off. CR can huff and puff and score a million goals with his head, by deflections and with keepers diving the wrong way at free kicks against mediocre opposition all he likes, but until he produces in the big game he's nothing.
