Poll: Who Will Win the 2008-9 Champions League?
By: Daryl | September 15th, 2008
You probably already know this, but the Champions League is back tomorrow. And I’m not talking about preliminary rounds or qualifying rounds or pulling plastic balls out of plastic pots, I’m talking about the Champions League group stages. The big money round.
And it’s going to awesome. How can it not be? Just look how shiny the logo is.
OK, that sounded cynical. I didn’t mean to be cynical. Yes the Champions League is basically one big cash orgy that makes rich clubs richer and unbalances the domestic leagues. But on the other hand it’s the only place where we get to see those rich clubs compete against each other.
Over on Champions League Offside Rob has previews up for all eight groups. Read them here: A-C, D-F and G-H.
Also, don’t forget about the Champions League Offside fantasy league that Rob has set up for everyone, via the UEFA website. You’ve got to be in it to win it people.
Here’s the big question before it all gets started tomorrow. Who is going to win in the Champions League? Vote in the poll below, where we’ve rather sportingly included all 32 teams as an option. So if you support BATE and think they’ll be lifting the big trophy next May, please feel free to share that prediction with the world:
So who’s playing who tomorrow? The Matchday 1 schedule is here, and you can scroll down for the rest of the matchdays.
We also have the odds on all tomorrow’s games at Bet Offside.

Apparently I got the first vote. However I choose to interpret this as theoffside.com 100% believes Man United will repeat. fantastic.

I have no idea. I want to say Utd, but with their (somewhat)poor form lately(for their standards at least) I don’t think they’ve got it in the bag yet. It’s a real toss up in my opinion.

liverpool are gonna win for sure this time.. considering their latest form and torres getting better each game (best striker around at present),liverpool are the favourites..

Depends if Liverpool mount any serious challenge for the title domestically. If they do, Champions League may fall by the wayside. If not, off we go to Rome…again. Regardless I hope it won’t be an “all English” affair again.

I’d say Chelsea, but they obviously are going to meet Inter in the latter stages aren’t they? That could be interesting.
