Poll: Will David Beckham Ever Play for LA Galaxy Again?
By: Daryl | October 30th, 2008
So, it’s official. David Beckham is definitely joining AC Milan on loan from LA Galaxy. We even know the exact date – January 7th, 2009.
Here’s the official statement from the Galaxy’s website:
David Beckham remains under contract to the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer and will return to the club for training and the start of the 2009 MLS season.
Or will he?
I say: Beckham will be back. Mostly because it would cost Milan far too many euros to buy Becks out of his Galaxy contract.
Chris says: “Beckham never plays another minute for the LA Galaxy. How many people will still want to drive a Toyota Camry after driving a Ferrari?”
What do you think. Will Beckham ever play for LA Galaxy again? Vote in our poll below:

I think so.
Your reasoning is sound, Daryl. Why would Milan spend THAT much money to buy out a old, past prime waste?

Beckham was already “driving a ferrari” when he was at manchester united chris.

I think he will. I suspect an agreement might be drawn up that he goes to Milan during the close seasons though, if his legs can take it.

I can’t see Milan spending enough money to break the Galaxy’s hold on him. Let’s face it, they’re not just against the Galaxy, they’re against the entire MLS who gambled hard on Beckham. Most Americans don’t know the Galaxy finished in last place, but if Beckham left permanently that’d be a pretty embarassing defeat for the MLS.

Beckham was still deciding between Milan and Galaxy up until the morning his Galaxy contract was signed, so he’s not only driven plenty of Ferrari’s but could have spent the rest of his career watching them built between matches if he felt like it. And he chose the Galaxy.
As a Beckham fan, watching him during the second half of this season, it’s clear he hasn’t figured how to keep his game up and stay focused in whatever his role here entails. No excuses for that at all but, if he hasn’t become a different person overnight, making that right would be enough in itself to bring him back next season.
But who knows…I’m the only person I know who won’t make a prediction on the US election!

Do not forget: Becks is soooo awkward that to be in a country where they do not speak English- tanti auguri! Also- how will Becks like 15 minutes of playing time per match. I do not know that Serie A will appreciate the king of missed penalties (even in his prime). As one who abhors AC Milan I am happy at the match made in H**l. Viva Viola!
