Vote: Who Do You Want to Win the Champions League Final?

By: Daryl | May 20th, 2008

You may have heard already, but there’s a bit of a big game going on tomorrow in Moscow. It’s Man Utd vs Chelsea in the Champions League Final. Though it’s obvious who fans of both teams will be cheering for, we were wondering who the vast majority of viewers (ie neutrals) would prefer to see raise the trophy.

For some, the questions will boil down to who you hate least: Cristiano Ronaldo or Ashley Cole? But there are personnel on both sides who arguably deserve a victory.

Paul Scholes famously missed out the last time Man Utd were in the Champions League final, Alex Ferguson sees the trophy as the Holy Grail and club football’s ultimate honour would arguably be the perfect end to Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible season. Ryan Giggs would probably love to break the all-time Man Utd appearances record and win the Champions League in the same game, while Park Ji Sung would become the first South Korean (or any Korean for that matter) to lift the big trophy.

On the other hand players like Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and John Terry have given sweat, blood and tears to the Chelsea cause for the last few seasons. Petr Cech has given a chunk of his head. while Avram Grant has stepped in and replaced Jose Mourinho admirably. Plus Utd already have the Premier League trophy. And how about poor Roman Abramovich? If you’d spent millions and millions of your own perfectly good money on a football team, then the least you’d expect in return was a nice shiny Champions League trophy.

Remember we’re running a Champions League Final Predictor Contest with prizes to giveaway and we’ll also have a LiveBlog of the big game tomorrow.

I love having admin privileges on this site. It means I can go in and vote before the polls officially open. So for the next two hours, 100% of the vote will be for Chelsea.

It’s like choosing between Coke and Pepsi. And that’s almost not even a metaphor.

Brian, you have made me laugh. Given the day I’m having, that is a feat.

    Pepsi is better with food
    Coke is better alone
There IS a distinct flavor difference.

But UTD is just plain old better than Chelsea.

I’d rather have neither, but prefer Coke…although I do enjoy Diet Coke more…aka FC United of Manchester!
