A Man among Boys

carlos_alberto_site.jpgEach year, people around the world spend billions of dollars on products to fight the inevitable aging process. All of this seems like a giant waste of money now that Brazilian midfielder Carlos Alberto has come up with a free and easy way to fight the onset of old age: lie.

Carlos Alberto, who is one of the top players for Figueirense, is being investigated for age fraud. According to newspaper reports in Brazil, he is five years older than his listed age of 21. No big deal, right? We all forget our real age from time to time. The problem is that Carlos Alberto happened to be a member of Brazil’s World Youth Cup winning team back in 2003 even though he was not exactly a youth.

You would have thought that suspicions would have arisen then when he was the only one on the team who shaved and when he passed up the postgame pizza parties for a night out at the bar, but alas the truth has just now come out and Carlos Alberto has been suspended until the situation is sorted out or he gets a better fake ID. On a positive note, he and Obademi Martins could hit the lecture circuit and make a killing on their Fountain of Youth products.

I am suprized at alberto as a brasil fan but how much damage could he have done? I think that it dosen't matter how old he is and the part about the youth brasil thing-it is long gone i order them to seise and desist emediatly for them going against such a talented player! but if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
