Fan for a Match: Colo Colo

This week’s Fan for a Match selection takes us to the beautiful country of Chile where we will support a team that is so good that their name is repeated twice. Colo Colo currently sits atop the Torneo de Clausura Group 1 standings with 14 points from 8 matches. But that is not the reason we are choosing to back this side. Considering our dismal Fan for a Match record, you know by now that we rarely back good teams.

Instead, we are using our collective powers to support Colo Colo in their match on Sunday against the scum Santiago Wanderers because of the story we came across about the clubs supporters group, Garra Blanca (White Force). During their teams 4-1 win last week, the Garra Blanca was treated to water cannons and tear gas from the police because they were fighting amongst themselves.

Any club that is in first place and is winning a match and still has its fans riot against one another is a club that needs The Offside’s support. You see, we are uniters and not dividers and we’d like nothing more than to help the Garra Blanca to put aside their internal differences and to unite in their hatred of The Offside’s Fan for a Match curse.

We’re really hoping to break this curse and get back on the winning track. If we can’t do it with a club that has dominated Chilean football for years, than we might turn the water cannons on ourselves.
