Goalkeeper Looks to Break Goal Scoring Record
By: Bob | August 8th, 2006
There are many forwards around the world who would like to have the goal scoring career that Sao Paulo’s Rogerio Ceni has had. The goalkeeper is a free kick and penalty specialist who has knocked in 62 goals over his career, tying him with legendary Paraguay keeper Jose Luis Chilavert for the most goals scored by a goalkeeper.
Rogerio might have a chance to make the record all his own on Wednesday when Sao Paulo takes on Internacional in the first leg of the Libertadores Cup final. Lest you think that Rogerio’s goals are the result of a long career and a lot of luck, take a look at some of his free kick magic in the video below. If only more teams used their keepers to take free kicks!

From what I understand, he was in the running to be included in the Brazil squad in Germany ‘06, so he can’t be awful.

Well Dida ws nothing special. Wow those free kicks are even better than Pirlo. Its lik a frekin rocket. On many of them the goalie just didnt even bother going for it. Just admitted defeat right away, lmao.
