Keeper’s Boot 1, Striker’s Face 0

By: Bob | May 3rd, 2007

If you are wondering what they are talking about in the Argentine papers today – and I know you are – it is the kung fu beat down Velez Sarsfield Gaston Sessa keeper put on the face of Boca Junior’s Rodrigo Palacio on Wednesday. Sessa received a red card for his kick, which the papers are describing as “irresponsible craziness”, “irrationality” and “coward aggression”. I opt to go with “fucking ridiculous”. The only possible explanation for why he did it is that Palacio is sleeping with his wife. Fortunately Palacio was not blinded and he will live to see another day.

That was a terrible challenge. No need for a keeper to ever lunge like that.

Boca Jrs are also pressing criminal charges and demanding that he receive a psychiatric evaluation.
