Kerlon’s Amazing Seal Dribble
By: Bob | December 11th, 2006
Kerlon Moura Souza is a young player who has captured the attention of some of the world’s largest clubs. The 18-year-old forward has been a star on Brazil’s youth teams. He was the leading scorer and was named the top player at the South American Youth Championships in 2005 where his play led to interest from Manchester United and Inter Milan among others. Kerlon currently plays for Cruzeiro where he didn’t score in 26 matches this season but did wow people with his trademark “seal dribble”.
As you can see in the video below, the seal dribble is a nearly unstoppable move, especially considering how fast and how agile Kerlon is while running and juggling a ball on his head. I can’t recall ever seeing another player use the seal dribble. Outside of fouling him, I don’t see how it can be stopped.
Given his success at such a young age, Kerlon is obviously more than just a one-trick pony, but that one trick sure is something to behold. He has said that he wants to stay at Cruzeiro for another year, but it is probably just a matter of time before he takes his seal act abroad.

Are you serious? He does that in games? That’s crazy. He’s likely to get slammed someday.

I’d recommend stopping putting emphasis on his young age, he’s probably 25.

Edward’s right–impressive, but that dude’s gonna get creamed at higher levels. Fun to watch, though.

Here in Brazil there was a lot of marketing about him but that was it. He didn’t show any of his football during this season and people forgot about him.

No one forgot him in Brazil, he had a problem in his knee (not related to the dribble). He is 19 now and is playing a great football after a series of problems he had.
