Looking for Boca Juniors and Colo Colo Bloggers

Two of the big boys met in Copa Libertadores Group 3 last night, and Chile’s Colo Colo beat Argentina’s Boca Juniors 2-0 in Santiago. Colo Colo got off to the best possible start, when Cristobal Jorquera absolutely spanked a half-volley into the bottom corner with just two minutes on the clock. Gustavo Bizcayzacu’s blank header (got to feel sorry for Mauricio Caranta in Boca’s goal, he had no chance) doubled the lead after 34 minutes, and Boca never recovered.

More bad news for Boca was that Juan Roman Riquleme limped out holding his thigh. Uh-oh. With Group 3 now halfway through, Boca are down in third, Colo Colo in second and (recent Offside addition) Atlas of Mexico are in first place.

We would love to get blogs for Boca Juniors and Colo Colo up and running here on The Offside. There’s no money in it, but if you’re a fan of either of these teams and want to write about them for a big, appreciative audience just read our application guidelines and then send us an email.

  • Well, I don't think Boca are a bad team but they are favored by some unbelievably lucky bounces (Palermo) and calls by the ref, especially at home. Against Colo Colo, their luck just happened to run out.
  • As usual, Boca always comes second. Hah!
