Rio Branco Unveil The Tandem Bicycle

[101 Great Goals]

This goal is already being declared by many the goal of 2009. It just might be. What is almost entirely certain is that it’s the best goal ever to come from a Serie D Brazilian side. (For those without basic alphabet skills D is the fourth tier.)

One bicycle kick is good. Two bicycle kicks are tremendous. But the bicycle kick assist to bicycle kick goal? Nigh unthinkable, and perhaps the best goal-assist combo. The volley to volley goal? Nice, but not enough. Then again, you wonder what would happen if Alan Kardec volleyed to Marco van Basten

  • Yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed either, and Mustafa summed up why perfectly.

No offense, and in theory, this would be the most awesome thing ever, however, in this case, I remain unimpressed, and here's why: those were two, genuinely crappy bicycle kicks, and they just happened to luckily end up in the back of the net

the first one was completely messed up, and it just happened to fly harmlessly to his teammates chest and the teammate sliced his kick and it managed to catch the goalie in the wrong place and it floated over the goalie and in the net... if the first bicycle kick was purposely passed to the second player who then bicycled the ball (and extra points if the second player did it without a touch to get the ball in the right position) into the net with a laser, then i think people would be right to go with the hyperbole, but I just don't think for the best goal of the year to be a partial fluke

There's a reason these guys are playing in Brazil's 4th division, don't forget that
  • That is genuinely awesome.
