Managed to hold his own alongside some of the greatest players of the modern era. Not sure about his 1000 goals claim however and the quest made a bit of a mockery of Vasco da Gama for a while. Romario was being brought off the bench to take penalties when he found himself stuck on 999 not out. Romario pulling on his boots again is also a sad indication of how the Brazilian public miss out on seeing their greatest players performing in their prime.
