Thomas, that accent is actually from Sao Paulo. And not even from the city, but from state's interior.

There is nothing better than seeing an aging legend bust out a vintage move, completely uncompromised...this was a real match, a real sprint, and an important goal.

Its like watching Shaq in the NBA; he's supposed to be over the hill for an aging center, so when he scores 30 with 15 rebounds, it makes you feel good.

Maybe this is all because it reminds us of where we were 10-15 years ago when these stars truly dominated, day in, day out?

The Rio de Janeiro (Carioca) accent always cracks me up. I learned Portuguese in the north-east of Brazil, so hearing him emphasise that "r" in "gordo" when he says "Corre gordinho!" (translation: Run fatty!) really catches my ear.

Fósforo (trans: match) is my favorite word to hear a Carioca say.

I have a hard time believing Ronaldo reached a sprint speed of roughly 22mph.

Kudos for Ronaldo, all the way.

I believe that many fans will sacrifice their body part to see him in his 1997 form. With all due respect to Messi, he is nor even close.
