São Paulo’s Borge Shines the Emperor’s Boots

By: Daryl | March 29th, 2008

Adriano’s loan move to São Paulo didn’t start too well, what with the drinking and the headbutting. But The Emperor got his act together in the Paulista championship against Sertaozinho yesterday, and reminded everyone what he can do with a football.

Adriano scored in the 69th minute with an impressively powerful header. But his best moment came in the 61st, when he threaded a pass to Borges through a gap in the Sertaozinho defence that wasn’t even there until The Emperor decided it was. Borges was so impressed with the through ball that he celebrated by taking Adriano’s passing boot and giving it a polish.
