That West Ham Argentine Marriage may not Last Long
By: Bob | November 14th, 2006
A few months ago there was all kinds of excitement and speculation following the announcement that West Ham had landed Argentine stars Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano. The move to land a pair of talented youngsters was largely regarded as a coup even if it did leave some in Argentina a bit upset.
Fast forward a few months and the luster of the signings has worn off. The Hammers have struggled and Tevez and Mascherano have hardly set the world on fire. All of this has led to another chapter in the saga with reports that the duo may return to play in Brazil come the January transfer window.
The speculation coming out of Brazil is that Tevez and Mascherano could be loaned to Flamengo. I’m not entirely sure how this move could benefit West Ham or the players if they intend to play in the Premiership in the future, but this whole situation has been murky and unpredictable from the beginning so if nothing else it is safe to expect the unexpected.
