The Ball Boys are back at it, this time Starting Riots

By: Bob | October 26th, 2006

As if scoring goals and causing teams to lose weren’t enough, now ball boys are triggering riots. At about the 45 second mark in the video above you’ll see Jorge Amado Nunes, coach of the Peruvian club Universitario, express his displeasure at one of the ball boys working the match at Sport Ancash’s home stadium. Nunes was upset because the ball boys disappeared after their team took the lead, forcing Nunes’ bench players to chase after balls. Needless to say, the home crowd didn’t take to kindly to this and among other things a rather large knife is tossed onto the pitch. The referees ended up suspending the match with 13 minutes remaining and Nunes has been suspended three matches for his actions.
