The Copa Libertadores is Not the Place to Head Past Your Own Keeper

By: Daryl | March 1st, 2008

The Copa Libertadores is well and truly underway, with the majority of teams having played two games. Chilean champions Colo Colo lost their first Group 3 game to Atlas of Mexico, but bounced back with this 3-1 win over Atlético Maracaibo of Venezuela. Colo Colo’s second goal, finished by Uruguayan forward Gustavo “grillito” Biscayzacú, is what happens when you pass the ball quickly, and Colo Colo’s third goal is what happens when overambitious Maracaibo defender Gregory Lancken heads the ball over his own keeper.

Next up for Colo Colo is a big game againts Boca Juniors on March 20th. Full Copa Libertadores standings can be found here.
