The Africa Cup of Nations Situation - Group D
By: Daryl | January 31st, 2008Group C was nice and straightforward yesterday: Egypt won and Cameroon won, so Egypt and Cameroon went through. Group D could also be nice and simple today. If Angola and Tunisia play out a draw then they both go to the quarterfinals and that’s that. However, if that game produces a winner (and more importantly a loser) then that opens the quarterfinal door to either Senegal or South Africa, who play in today’s other Group D game. Keep reading for a look at the Group D table and an overview of who needs to do what today to keep the dream alive.

Anyone notice Sudan’s kits in the match yesterday with Cameroon? Diadora, which differed slightly from the ADIDAS kits they wore in the first two matches. C’mon, how can you be taken seriously when you change kit manufacturers mid-tourney. 5 bucks to the person who can name the last nation to do the switcharoo mid tourney at a major event (Euro, WC, CopaAmerica, etc)…….
