2010-11 UEFA Champions League 1st Qualifying Round

In late May of 2011, Wembley Stadium in London will host the 2011 UEFA Champions League final, the biggest match in club football. But there is a long tournament and over 70 teams to eliminate before that big silver trophy can be given out. The tournament begins with four sides, the true minnows, playing off in the 1st qualifying round. Before the World Cup was even over, the round was done and dusted, and we had our first two teams out of the running.

Results
Tre Fiori (San Marino) vs. Rudar Pljevlja (Montenegro)
* First leg: Tre Fiori 0-3 Rudar Pljevlja
* Second leg: Rudar Pljevlja 4-1 Tre Fiori
Rudar Pljevlja advances to the 2nd qualifying round

FC Santa Coloma (Andorra) vs. Birkirkara (Malta)
* First leg: 3-0 away victory awarded to Birkirkara because of poor pitch conditions at Coloma’s stadium.
* Second leg: Birkirkara 4-3 FC Santa Coloma
Birkirkara advances to the 2nd qualifying round
