Mzamo...dude..come on...why the hell should Umbro ask for forgiveness to all these people...give me a break!!!maybe Terry planted his foot wrong, maybe he was nervous, maybe that area on the pitch was affected by someone who had kicked around earlier....maybe United were destined to win...

http://pitchjustice.blogspot.com
Firstly I am not a Chelsea or man U fan. I watched the match for best soccer entertainment reasons. I however know that technical expertise on what sports athletes wear on pitch is highly drummed for commercial benefit rather than true performance at highest level of elite sportsmen needs.

John terry boots let him down yesterday, he slipped because of lack of grip from wet weather conditions for the boot described below as his choice. The technology of this boot did nothing to guarantee John the Ultimate performance when he most needed it. Umbro has failed John, Chelsea and ultimately the fans of football around the world. This boot will go down in history as the one that stole victory and football justice to all stakeholders involved in the game.

Umbro John Terry SX Valor Force Soft Ground Football Boots - Navy/White/Red

This is the latest Umbro boot as worn by England and Chelsea captain John Terry. The new Umbro SX Valor Force is packed full of performance enhancing technology guaranteed to give players of all levels a welcome mid season boost. The Valor is an all round football boot focusing on comfort, safety and control.

Main Features:

- high grade water resistant ceramic duratec kangaroo leather
- revolutionary Michelin technology suede vamp
- PU print application
- fully shaped leather flip over tongue with velcro fastener
- lightweight TPU heel counter
- TPU anatomical outsole with carbon fibre rigidity shank
- 8 removable studs for use on soft natural surfaces.

The most honourable thing to be done is for UMBRO apologise to John, Chelsea fc and fans. All the other brands like adidas and nike were in the same conditions but won on the day.

I think Manchester United deserve to be called 'King of Europe'. Credit to Chelsea for coming agonizingly close -- but missed penalties, unconverted chanches, and temper tantrums do not win Champions League trophies. At the end of the day, it is United who is worthy of having claimed the Double.

Both teams are buying their success. I hope Platini follows through on his promise to crack down on debt-financed clubs. It's bad for the fans and bad for the sport.

True irony however is Vidic calling Drogba a diver...as if his team's prima donna isn't world renowned for the same thing.

Spot on, Jan. All clubs start out as small, and some grow faster than others. Chelsea, regardless of how they got to where they are, are here. Roman might have been responsible for the funding, but it was the players who did the hard work on the pitch to get there. Saying that Chelsea are nothing but a rich man's playground is wholly unfair.

Anyway, I don't see the difference between Liverpool taking out loans to buy Torres and Chelsea depending on their owner to buy players. All clubs buy their success.

I thought Chelsea deserved it on the night, I found myself wanting them to win in the shootout. But a thrilling finalé either way. God bless the Champions League. and drinking games *hic*

That's the thing, Bruno - it's not as if Chelsea was a tiny club before four years ago. There are a lot of Chelsea fans that have been around for years. But you're right that as with any team that gets a big jolt of money and new talent, there definitely are new fans too. I just feel bad for the old ones that get bundled in with the newer bandwagoners.

Jan, you touch the right point again.

you cannot deny a club the right to write its own history and tradition. but not only money can do that. it comes with time and losses like the one from today. money may be part of the proccess but it is not only it. and that is a lesson chelsea fans (especially the ones who became fans in the past 4 years) are learning.
