Champions League QuerterFinals 2nd Leg LiveBlogs: Tuesday

That sign is lying. There won’t be “Girls, Girls, Girls” in these Champions league quarterfinal second legs. Unless you count Fernando Torres’ dubious resemblance to Britney Spears that is. But there will be LiveBlogs, as we cover Bayern vs Barcelona and Chelsea vs Liverpool.

I’d suggested earlier today that with Liverpool already trailing 3-1 maybe they would be better off losing this tie and focusing on the Premier League. But most Liverpool fans weren’t keen on the idea, and seems Rafa Benitez isn’t either as he’s going to gamble on Steven Gerrard’s fitness and start his skipper. (update: Gerrard has not recovered enough to play.)

Bayern Munich might not have some much choice in the matter, what with being 4-0 down from the first leg. But they do have Philipp Lahm and Lucio back from injury. Jurgen Klinsmann is refreshingly realistic about his team’s chances and has set his side a simple goal: “We want to play breathtaking football and bid an honourable farewell to the Champions League.” The rest of us can just sit back and enjoy watching Barcelona do their thing.
