Estadio da Luz Lands 2014 Champions League Final

It would seem unlikely, but only one major continental final has landed in Portugal since Euro 2004, and it was the 2004-05 UEFA Cup final at the Estadio Jose Alvalde. (Sporting Lisbon’s stadium – the one which looks full when empty.) Even the Dragao has thus far missed out on hosting a hoisting despite looking like stadium adult cinema from afar.

UEFA rectified that today, handing the 2014 Champions League final to Benfica’s Estadio da Luz, which hosted the Euro 2004 final.
