How Europe Was Won: Pep’s Motivational Video.

Extra special occasions require extra special motivation, so Pep had a motivational montage doctored up to show the Barca lads before they took on Manchester United at the Stadio Olimpico. Somebody at one of the various Spanish papers got ahold of the video, and it’s now showing exclusively at YouTube.

It’s essentially a really well done YouTube highlight reel of the Barcelona team this season, with interspersed scenes from Gladiator and a soundtrack that was extracted directly from YouTube Highlight Reels 101. And it worked – sort of. Pep showed the video ten minutes before kickoff – when it reportedly drew a few tears – but by my recollection, ManU’s best stretch of the game was the opening 9 minutes. No bother, though – all’s well that ends well.
