Super Kun Takes Eindhoven

By: chris | September 16th, 2008

As good as he’s been, this could finally be Kun Aguero’s “breakout” year. Freshly 20, he was the third leading scorer in La Liga last year. Won the Gold Medal at the Olympics with Argentina this summer as well, scoring two against eternal rivals Brazil in the process. Now he’s got 3 Champions League goals to kick off his top level European career, scoring two (first above and second after the jump – gorgeous finish on the latter) to take the 3 points from Dutch champions PSV today. This could be the year those Next Maradona comparisons ascend to the next level.

Oh, and Barca would reportedly like to partner him with Lionel Messi for the next decade or so. They supposedly aren’t batting an eye at his €60m buyout clause. Nor would we.

Kun should finish in the top 5 of this year's Balon d'Or (but probably will not unless he continues to put up jaw droppingly impressive performances like this in the Champions League).

    A very special player.
