Worst. Miss. Ever.
By: Martha | December 13th, 2007Lyon dominated Rangers in their Champions League match yesterday, and ended up with a well-deserved 3-0 win. When Jean-Claude Darcheville missed from two yards, though, it was just 1-0, and Rangers still had hope. Ouch. (Just for kicks, keep watching after the miss to see why all of Europe is after Karim Benzema.)

I have a standing offer in to adopt Karim Benzema. So far he hasn’t taken me up on it, but Karim? We could probably even work out a way for you to have your own room. Think about it.
I adore this kid — he’s not only unbelievably talented, he’s incredibly well-grounded and comes across as ego-free and just plain nice. The kind of kid you’d want your daughter to marry.
I felt bad for Darcheville yesterday, but Lyon deserved to go through. Better luck in UEFA Cup, Rangers.

Does he need to be adopted? Or are his parents just not involved in these discussions?

He has wonderful parents who drove him to practice up till last year. But what does that have to do with anything?

That’s sort of what I figured. Possibly the reason your offer’s not getting a response?

In an interview with UEFA, Benzema said he was still living with his parents. He doesn’t want to move out and live by himself because he is too attached to his mother’s cooking.
Laurie, if you are a good cook, there’s your chance.

Damn.
But I do make a killer apple pie. Think that would count?

That’s what the professionals call “enabling,” Inara.

What a miss! Although given the players involved I think it might have been marginally worse when Cristiano Ronaldo did the exact same thing last year. (It’s in this clip somewhere, but the whole thing is spectacularly worth a watch.)
