Insanity: Liveblogging and Tracking Two UEFA Cup Matches at Once. Only at The Offside

By: Laurie | April 24th, 2008

buffel-turn.jpgUEFA Cup. The Champions League’s neglected little sibling. So neglected that our preview post is going up at halftime.

Oops. Sorry. Try to forgive us.

Today we have both games of the semifinals, going on simultaneously.

Bayern Munich vs. Zenit St. Petersburg and
Rangers vs. Fiorentina

And we’re guessing that our very own Ian Rose of UEFA Cup Offside is the only person crazy enough to be tracking both matches at once online.

Sample entry:

21:14 - This is reminiscient of the first half of the Barca - Man U game. There probably is another half to the pitch, but we don’t often see it.

No, I’m not going to tell you which game that’s from. Stop by Ian’s semifinal live score/live blog to find out.

That’s nothing. I liveblogged seven at once a few months ago at the France Offside.
Note: my half-time score was right! If Bayern ends up winning 2-1, I’ll have me a RUSSIA shirt!

I highly recommend never actually trying this … there were a few points when there were shots at the same time in both matches, and I made little-kid-screaming noises. Fun though. Sorry about that shirt, Sam … very very close.

Well Sammy, it would have come down to your halftime prediction if that score would have happened, because I predicted the same thing!
