A Dirty, Dirty (in a Good Way) Goal
By: Martha | December 30th, 2007It’s not quite everyone but Scotland and England that have stopped for the break — the last round in the Eredivisie was played this weekend, punctuated by this nasty chip from VVV Venlo’s Rachid Ofrany, which is just cruel to the Ajax keeper. With Ofrany opening the scoring, lowly Venlo snatched a late draw with The Mighty Ajax to close out the first half with a bit of breathing room between themselves and the drop zone.

haha, yes, i didn’t think anyone used “dirty” to describe a sweet move but me. but, wow, that was pretty sick, poor keeps. not quite the same situation, but reminds me of this goal here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FrOzHZqLu38 leaves you feeling similarly sorry for the keeps, only more amusing.

Oh, that is HARSH. I love his teammates laughing at him afterwards — he’s must still be hearing about that one.

Martha, your video isn’t showing up for me. Regarding Hana’s video, was that goal counted? Wasn’t the referee supposed to wait for the goalie to go back to the goal? Martha, I think they were laughing with him not at him.

I’m sorry, George, I keep reformatting it and it still doesn’t like firefox. I’ll keep playing with it, though — meantime, the link should work.
(With him, of course. (: And I was assuming it wasn’t counted, but am not sure … )

so, after some digging around, it turns out that the goal actually was counted, but bayer leverkusen (who scored the penalty) went on to win the match 3-2. so it all turned out okay in the end.
the ref really should have waited for the goalie to go back to his goal, but i don’t think he’s obligated to.Posted from

go figure that this goal had already been posted on worldcupblog at some point…
