A Name to Remember: Joseph-Desire Job

By: Bob | September 19th, 2006

jdjob.jpgWith you have a name like Joseph-Desire Job, there is always going to be a cruel bit of irony when you are out of work. The French-born Cameroon international striker has finally achieved what he most desired: a full-time job. He has signed a one-year contract with French first division side Sedan.

Middlesbrough fans are probably familiar with Job. The 28-year-old striker scored 19 goals in 94 games after coming to the club from Lens in 2000. Alas, Job didn’t really get the job done during his time in England and he was loaned out to both FC Metz and the Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad. Job also played for Cameroon in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, but has never really lived up to expectations.
