A Web Victory for Ronaldinho and All of Humanity

By: Bob | August 2nd, 2006

ron computer.JPGBrazil star Ronaldinho might have lost on the field during the World Cup, but he has won a battle in the courtroom that is sure to bring joy to Web surfers everywhere.

The UN intellectual property agency World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) ruled in Ronaldinho’s favor over a dispute regarding the website Ronaldinho.com. Apparently there were some cybersquatters holding onto the domain name in an effort to publicize music videos.

Now, we can all relax and enjoy a site that publicizes Ronaldinho, instead. I know I feel a bit better about that.

WIPO is also currently deciding on a similar case brought forth by Wayne Rooney, but has not decided whether it will hear my case for the right to use SexyBlogger.com as my domain name.
