A Yellow Card for a Peck, a Red Card for a Making Out

By: Bob | April 24th, 2007

Referees are used to taking abuse from players and fans, but apparently they aren’t accustomed to receiving some lovin’. In Brazil this past weekend Caborfriense defender Cleberson was shown a yellow card after he gave referee Ubiraci Damasio a smooch on the cheek after he was called for a foul. The two were initially involved in a friendly exchange but the referee’s mood quickly changed as he pulled out a yellow card and could be seen to say: “You can’t kiss me.” Said Cleberson afterwards: “I didn’t know it was against the rules.”
